The meeting with the head of government was also attended by the Minister of Finance, Andrzej Domański, and the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Jan Grabiec.
Change at the top of Apple's management
After 15 years at the helm of Apple, Tim Cook will step down as the company's CEO. He will be succeeded by John Ternus, current vice president of hardware engineering. The change marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of one of the world's largest technology companies.
Apple announced that the transfer of responsibilities will take place gradually. “Cook will continue in his role as CEO during the summer, working closely with Ternus to ensure a smooth takeover process” – says the official statement.
Although Cook will step down as executive director, he will not leave the company entirely. He will remain with Apple as chairman of its board of directors.
“The greatest privilege of my life”
Tim Cook summarized his many years of work at the head of the company, emphasizing the importance of this experience.
“Being CEO of Apple and the trust placed in me to lead such an extraordinary company has been the greatest privilege of my life,” he said, as quoted in the press release.
The departing head of the company also expressed his appreciation for his successor.
— John Ternus has the mind of an engineer, the soul of an innovator and the heart for leadership. He is a visionary and the right person to lead Apple into the future – said Cook.

The successor has been with Apple for over two decades
John Ternus has been working at Apple since 2001 and for years was responsible for the development of the company's key hardware products. In his new role, he will be the 8th president in the history of the company.
The new head of the company emphasized that he treated taking up the position as a great honor.
— I am grateful for the opportunity I received. I spent almost my entire career at Apple and had the opportunity to work with both Steve Jobs and Tim Cook. It is an honor for me to continue this mission, he noted.
This is the first change in Apple's CEO position since 2011. Then Tim Cook took over the management of the company after the company's co-founder Steve Jobs.
During his tenure, Apple strengthened its position as one of the most powerful players in the global technology industry, developing both its hardware offering and digital services.
