Mexico City Stadium was today the center of world football. The 80,000-seat stadium has been chosen for the opening match at the 2026 World Cup, Mexico – South Africa. Fans stormed the arena in Ciudad de Mexico, and inside they found prices commensurate with the event.

Inside the stadium, the organizers have placed several food and drink stands for the fans. They had a wide range of beer, tequila, gin, water, juices and chips to choose from. And the prices were extremely high.
What were the prices for the first match of WC 2026, Mexico – South Africa
The cheapest product on the list is, by far, plain water. A 600 ml bottle costs around 21 lei. This while mineral water has almost double the price, 42 lei. For a bag of chips, a fan had to pay around 51 lei, while beer cost around 73 lei per 710 ml.
The most expensive products on the list are two premium spirits. An 89 ml glass of whiskey costs 103 lei, as does an Añejo Cristalino tequila for the same amount.
