Tragedy on DN1: a woman died and three other people were injured after a devastating impact between a truck, a tanker and two cars
A particularly serious road accident occurred on Wednesday morning on DN1, in the town of Cornițel, Bihor county, on the Huedin – Oradea section. A TIR, an empty tanker and two cars, one of which was towing a trailer, were involved in the collision.

As a result of the violent impact, a 53-year-old woman lost her life, and three other people were injured and transported to the hospital.
As a result of the collision, the road train overturned, damaged a power pole and caused fuel to spill onto the road.
“A road train, two passenger cars and an empty tank truck were involved in the road accident. Following the collision, the road train overturned on the roadway, hit an electricity pole, and there were fuel leaks on the roadway. The accident resulted in the death of one passenger and the injury of four other people, who were transported to the hospital for medical care. Road traffic is diverted to DJ 108I Bucea – DJ 764 Bratca – DN 1 Borod”announced, on Wednesday morning, the INFOTRAFFIC Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.
According to the first police data, the accident occurred after a 32-year-old driver, who was behind the wheel of a TIR, entered the opposite direction of travel and hit the other vehicles in a chain, Ziua de West reports.
The police have opened a criminal case for manslaughter and culpable bodily harm and are continuing investigations to establish the exact causes of the accident.
The drivers of the vehicles involved were tested with the breathalyzer, the results were negative, the Bihor Police reported.
We remind you that in January, an out-of-control truck left the road and entered the yard and home of a woman in Smeeni, Buzău County, causing huge damage.
In October 2025, a truck out of control smashed a car on DN2. Two people died.
