Russia continues to attack American companies in Ukraine. The White House is silent, – …

According to the publication, since the beginning of this year, Russia has intensified attacks on objects related to American investments in Ukraine, turning attacks on business assets into one of the tools of economic and geopolitical pressure.
The assets of corporations with world names came under the attack of drones and rockets: the Cargill grain terminal in the south was hit by seven drones, the Coca-Cola plant near Kyiv was attacked three times, Mondelez and Philip Morris enterprises, as well as Boeing offices and the Flex plant in Zakarpattia, were affected, despite the distance of some of these objects from the front line.
As the commentators of The New York Times note, some business representatives and analysts see this not as accidental collateral losses, but as an attempt to create an atmosphere of “unacceptable risk” for American companies, scare away investors and make it difficult to further deepen economic ties between Kyiv and the new administration in Washington.
At the same time, the reaction of the Donald Trump administration, which is mostly limited to calls on the parties to refrain from hitting business interests, is causing discussions. As Ukrainian Ambassador to the USA Olha Stefanishyna noted, Washington previously urged Kyiv not to attack the Russian Black Sea oil terminal due to the presence of American interests there, while the public reaction of the US to strikes on American assets in Ukraine remains restrained.
Some analysts believe that such a reaction may create the impression that the US response to attacks against its own economic interests abroad is not sufficiently tough. In their view, it could also set an undesirable international precedent in which strikes on American assets are not accompanied by a noticeable increase in sanctions or security pressure in response.
