Costin Amzăr, close to parting with Dinamo: “He is not part of Nuno's project”

Dynamo management is looking for a team for the left defender. His contract Afternoon expires at the end of next season.

“We will try to find a solution for him (no – to Costin Amzăr). From the first estimates it seems that it is not part of the project that Nuno wants to build“, said Andrei Nicolescu on the show “Fotbal Club”, from Digi Sport.

Amzar returned this summer after a two-year experience at Al-Nasr.

Although the club from the Emirates had the option to transfer him permanently, the changes made at the level of management and technical staff changed the situation of the Romanian. The defender lost his place in the team and his last official match dates from December 5, 2025.

At this moment, Dinamo has only one professional left defender in the squad, Raul Opruț (28 years old).

So far, the club has parted ways with four players after the end of the season: Kennedy Boateng, Georgi Milanov, Valentin Țicu and Jordan Ikoko. All of their contracts have expired, and management has chosen not to renew their deals.

Behind the scenes of Zeljko Kopic's departure from Dinamo

In the same intervention, Andrei Nicolescu also provided details about the breakup with Zeljko Kopic.

According to him, the initiative belonged to the Croatian coach, who had already held talks with some of the club's shareholders before the tie with FCSB. However, the executive management found out about the technician's intentions only after the end of the season.

“I wouldn't want to go into details. The discussion was somehow initiated by him and later I found out that there were some discussions before the last match with some of Dinamo's shareholders. I found out after the last match.

I think the most important thing is that we were mature people, we sat at the table, we discussed, we understood things and we made a normal decision for everyone, good for everyone, which seemed the best to take in the situation we ended up in after the last match, which created quite a lot of frustration for all Dinamo fans and for everyone in the administration.

I found out absolutely everything he discussed with the shareholders, about his intention to part ways a bit after the end of this championship. We set ourselves at the end of this season to be very focused on what is happening, how we can help the team, to be more united, to close ranks for a qualification in the European cups”, added Andrei Nicolescu.

What he said was that we all agreed to the transfers we brought in, that means he also took them all on. We know what the risks were, but that doesn't mean we didn't all agree to bring them. We assumed together that, with these players, we must achieve the goals. The European Cups were a bonus.

Everything is possible in football and in life (no – Kopic could return)we parted absolutely amicably.
