Nostalgia Label, Alexandra Stan, Edward Maya and Soundfeed prepare the return of Popcorn music. The next musical trend could start from Romania

After more than a decade since Popcorn music conquered the charts all over the world, Romania seems ready to write a new chapter.

. Last week, Nostalgia Labelalongside Alexandra Stan, Edward Maya and Soundfeed, brought together at Studio House
over 50 producers, composers and artists for a project that could mark the return of one of the strongest Romanian musical exports.

More than a simple music camp, the meeting represented the starting point of an initiative that aims to bring back to the attention of the international public the energy, optimism and sound that defined the Popcorn generation and transformed Romania into a landmark of dance music at a global level.

Among the artists and creators present at the camp were names representative of several generations of the Romanian and international music industry, such as Alexandra Stan, Edward Maya, Kate Lynn, Radu Bolfea, Olivia Addams, Marius Mirică, Matteo, Donny,
Christian D, Bibi, Andra Gogan, Sasha Lopez, morris,
Celia, Xoniatogether with some of the most active producers and songwriters from England, Spain, India, Bulgaria, Germany or the Netherlands.

In a context where the global music industry is constantly looking for the next wave of nostalgia reinterpreted for new generations, Romanian music already seems to benefit from strong signals coming from the international market. The new generation of international DJs are actively contributing to bringing this sound back to the attention of the global audience. so much Mau Pas well as Skrillex have in recent days included sequences of “Stereo Love” in their sets and shows, proving that the DNA of Popcorn music remains relevant to contemporary dance culture.

In parallel, Spotify's new global campaign dedicated to the reinterpretation of iconic hits brings the legacy of Romanian music from that period back to the fore. Among the artists who support this new wave are Erika Isaacwho made a reinterpretation of the piece Mr. Saxobeatone of the most important international hits released by Alexandra Stan.

For Nostalgia Label, all these signals are not just a coincidence. They confirm that there is real interest in a new generation of music inspired by the DNA of Popcorn, but built for the audience of 2026.
