Daniel Oprița (44 years old), the coach starannounced that he is willing to continue in Ghencea next season, but only under certain conditions. The technician claims that he would like to make the step up to the Super League, although he admits that it is difficult for this to happen.

His contract Opriţa with Steaua expired at the end of last season, and the coach explained that he would agree to stay only if the deal included a clause that would allow him to leave at any time in case of a favorable offer.

Daniel Oprița sets conditions to continue at Steaua: “I would have liked to go to the Superliga”

“If I don't find something that attracts me and is good, let it be a good project, I would continue at Steaua under the conditions that they would understand me and accept a clause, to be able to leave at any time if I have an offer. It would be a good project in principle.

But it's hard to find in League 1, I would have liked to go somewhere there. I have the PRO license, I have everything. I'm on vacation, I don't know yet what decision I'll make. I like to work, I can't be without a team for a long time, and if I can't find a team right now, where I can train and accept my requirements, it's clear that I'll also talk to Steaua.

If they accept that clause, to be free to leave when I have an offer, then I would accept. Basically, I could be free at any time”, said Daniel Oprița, according to sport.ro.

Oprița has been training Steaua since 2019 and has collected 155 matches on the bench of the team from Ghencea. Throughout his career he also coached Juventus Bucharest, CSM Reșița, FC Voluntari and CS Mioveni.

In the recently concluded season, Steaua played in the League 2 play-off, a competition which it finished in 5th place.
