The XIII Generiad of the SGC took place in Krasnoyarsk / Sports news of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk Territory / Newslab.Ru
The XIII Generiad brought together over 300 athletes and fans of SGC enterprises in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia in the regional capital. At the Central Stadium of the Island of Rest, energy workers tested their strength and skills in mini-football, volleyball, table tennis, darts, as well as in the GTO disciplines.
The sports competitions began with the opening ceremony of the Generiad. Foreman and mechanics, engineers and linemen came out shoulder to shoulder in the same rows – a total of 9 teams led by enterprise managers. The energy workers were greeted by young football players and a drummer team.
Welcoming the athletes, General Director of the Yenisei TGC (a division of the SGC in the Krasnoyarsk Territory) Oleg Bubnovsky emphasized that the Generiad is not only an excellent opportunity to test one’s strength, but also to once again see how important the feeling of a reliable shoulder nearby and teamwork are.
“Only passionate and energetic people, working as a team, can complete projects that were considered impossible. And these people are you! Successful starts to everyone. Regardless of the results, you are all already winners!” Oleg Bubnovsky admonished his colleagues.
Each team was warmly supported by its own support group with chants, slogans and cheerleaders. Many employees came to the games with their most loyal fans – their spouses and children. So every pass on the volleyball courts was met with a storm of applause from the fans.
In the shadow of the sports center, tennis players competed at the tables, while the most accurate, attentive and collected ones tested their skills in the game of darts.
The real battle took place on the mini-football field. The teams fought for the title of the best in an atmosphere not inferior to the World Cup games. In incredibly difficult and exciting matches, the team of Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 won the mini-football competition. Team captain – head of the technical and technical department Vitaly Rybakov:
“All teams performed very, very well. In my team I would like to note the performance of the head of the public works department, Ivan Sorokin. I have been interested in football since childhood. I often play and train with my brother. And in the Generiad we try to participate with one, already played composition.”
And according to the results of the games, the team of Nazarovo State District Power Plant climbed to the victory podium of the XIII Generiad in the overall team competition. The team from Krasnoyarsk State District Power Plant-2 with perhaps the most emotional support group won silver. Bronze went to the team from Krasnoyarsk CHPP-2.
Vladimir Polukhin is the chief engineer of the Nazarovo State District Power Plant. He has been working at the station for more than 30 years. The specialist admits that sport is one of the main hobbies of his life. In his youth, Vladimir was fond of team sports – football and volleyball. And in the last few years I discovered individual sports and GTO. Vladimir Polukhin sees the key to his team’s successful performance in the will to win, regular training and a sense of community: “Victory is the result of each member of our team and, of course, our group of fans. It’s very important to be supported.”
In Generiada, SGC employees not only showed their sporting achievements, but also got to know each other even better. Before the closing ceremony of the games, athletes from different teams shared their emotions with each other and discussed the most exciting moments. And of course they took pictures. In the final, all teams went on stage to receive awards and memorable gifts. Many energy workers came out with their families, proving that interest in sports and a healthy lifestyle starts from childhood.
“The games were held in an atmosphere of friendliness and mutual respect. I was pleased how the guys on the football field apologized to each other for their moments in the game. Let's remember that we should always play sports. I recommend to everyone who has decided to take the path of sports not to delay and go to the gym on Monday. And we are starting to prepare for the next Generiad,” noted Oleg Bubnovsky, General Director of the Yenisei TGC, at the closing ceremony of the XIII Generiad.
