Road workers threatened to go to court over a landfill set up by summer residents at a bus stop near Krasnoyarsk

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, residents of SNT complained about the garbage that was stored at the Sosna 2 stop near the Krasnoyarsk – Minino station road, but the regional highway department promised to go to court if the administration did not clean up the garbage.
In recent days, the department has received complaints from local residents and media inquiries about the dump that has formed at the bus stop. People demand that waste be removed. But the department explained that the stop does not apply to regional roads, so garbage can only be removed from the right of way of the regional road. Then begins the area of responsibility of the local administration.
“NOne must ask the question: where did this garbage even come from? We suspect that residents of nearby SNT store waste here, because it is unlikely that anyone from afar will bring garbage here. Consequently, a completely logical question arises – don’t they have organized places for storing and removing waste? If not, then they need to be arranged, and the question is for the local administration. If there is, then this is a question for the conscience of those who leave this garbage here, because it is apparently convenient to leave a bag at a bus stop and immediately leave by bus or deliberately bring huge bags in a personal car,” explained the KRUDor press service.
The department sent letters to the acting head of the Mininsky village council of the Emelyanovsky district and the head of Krasnoyarsk with a request to solve the problem. If the landfill is not liquidated, the department may appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the court to take administrative measures.
The road workers also recalled that their main task is the repair and maintenance of highways, and not the removal of household waste left by summer residents: “At many stops, for some reason, residents prefer to leave bags, packages, and arrange landfills, which should have been delivered by them to organized waste collection sites; for this, an agreement is concluded and money is paid. The trash cans at bus stops are intended for small waste from those waiting for public transport – an ice cream wrapper, an empty water bottle, a chewing gum package, etc., they are not intended for storing waste!
