In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists identified violations in the sale of seeds through the Siberian Gardener online store. This was reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor department for the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
According to the department, the website sold seeds of vegetable crops, the varieties of which are not included in the State Register of Varieties and Hybrids of Agricultural Plants approved for use. Among them were tomatoes with the names “3 ruble kilometer”, “1000 devils”, “Aunt Molly’s Cherries”, “Isaac Newton’s Apples”, “33 Little Pigs” and “Redskin”.
Seeds of peppers, onions and carrots of unregistered varieties were also found on sale. For example, “Pillar Noblewoman”, “Aristotle”, “Yalta Red”, “Long Blunt without Core”, “Winter Sweet” and “Nantes 5 Super Juicy”.
To prevent violations in the field of seed production, a warning was issued to the owner of the online store. In total, since the beginning of the year, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists have checked 22 Internet sites selling seeds, owned by entrepreneurs of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
