“Already this month.” The EU has decided what it will use the first tranche of €90 billion for Ukraine


This month, the European Union will send the first tranche of a loan to Ukraine in the amount of €90 billion – €5.9 billion. This was stated by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaya Kallas on June 8, she was quoted by the press service of the European Commission.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky reported that Ukraine expected the first tranches of financial assistance from the European Union in June.

“A loan for Ukraine of €90 billion is ready to be disbursed, and already this month the first tranche in the amount of €5.9 billion will be allocated for the purchase of drones,” Kallas said.

She said that when distributing funds, the EU took into account the needs of Ukraine.
