The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Cyprus will develop joint post-traumatic growth programs for veterans

General Director of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation Ksenia Sukhova, with the assistance of the Chairman of the Federation of Greek Societies of Ukraine Stepan Mahsma, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to Ukraine Michalis Firillas. During the negotiations, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of supporting veterans, mental stability and community development. This was reported on the website of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

According to the meeting participants, one of the main areas of cooperation will be the development of post-traumatic growth programs within the framework of the “Heart of Azovstal” project. We are talking about creating an international partnership between Ukrainian and Cypriot universities, research centers and expert institutions working in the field of overcoming the consequences of trauma and supporting veterans.

The parties discussed the possibility of cooperation with leading educational institutions in Cyprus, the launch of joint educational and research programs, as well as attracting international expertise to develop a model of post-traumatic growth in Ukraine.

According to the Foundation, the participants planned to strengthen institutional partnerships between the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, government agencies of Cyprus and European organizations to integrate Ukrainian experience in supporting veterans into international platforms.

“For Ukraine, the issue of supporting veterans and people who have survived the traumatic experience of war is already one of the key challenges today. We are grateful to our international partners for their willingness to join in the search for effective solutions. Cooperation with Cypriot institutions will strengthen post-traumatic growth programs, combine scientific, practical and international expertise and create new opportunities for the recovery and self-realization of veterans,” Sukhova noted.

Representatives of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation emphasized that international cooperation is an important component of the development of post-traumatic growth programs that are being implemented within the framework of the Heart of Azovstal project. Their goal is to help veterans and defenders released from captivity overcome the negative consequences of their experiences, regain control over their own lives, and find new opportunities for self-realization.
