A 48-year-old man suspected of firing a firearm at four people, in the municipality of Lupeni, was detained by the police, being accused, among other things, of attempted murder of a family member and violation of the protection order, the Hunedoren police reported on Monday.
The incident took place on Sunday afternoon on a street in Lupeni, and the four victims, including members of the aggressor's family, were in a car.
“In fact, the police were alerted, on June 7, at around 5:20 p.m., by a 58-year-old woman from Lupeni, regarding the fact that her son-in-law, 48 years old, from Galati County, allegedly shot a gun at her, her 64-year-old husband (from Lupeni), her 32-year-old daughter and a 26-year-old man (both from Galați county)”, stated IPJ Hunedoara, quoted by Agerpres.
The four victims were urgently transported to the hospital for specialized care, later the 58-year-old woman was discharged.
The other three people are still in hospital, two of them are out of danger. The 64-year-old man is in an unstable condition.
After committing the act, the 48-year-old man left the area where the incident took place, heading in an unknown direction in a car.
Later, the police identified the car on a forest road, where it had been abandoned.
The person in question had the status of aggressor within two protection orders issued by the Petroșani Court, in favor of the victims.
“In the case, a criminal case was drawn up for attempted murder of a family member, violation of the protection order, disturbance of public order and peace, non-compliance with the regime of weapons and ammunition, use of weapons without the right, as well as for the introduction or removal from the country, without the right, of weapons and ammunition”, according to IPJ Hunedoara.
The case prosecutor ordered the detention of the 48-year-old man for a period of 24 hours, he being deposited in the Deva Detention and Preventive Arrest Center. Research continues into this file.
