Respiratory viruses circulate all year round, so you can get ARVI even in the warm season. Rospotrebnadzor in the Krasnoyarsk Territory told how to prevent colds.

In summer, the risk of getting sick is often increased by air conditioning, swimming in cold water and overheating. These factors can weaken the immune system and make the body more vulnerable. When using an air conditioner, experts advise setting the temperature at least 22 °C and not directing the air flow directly towards you.

It is also important to be careful when swimming in cold water. The recommended water temperature for adults is not lower than 18 °C, for children not lower than 22 °C. After swimming, you need to take off your wet clothes and dry yourself with a towel. To prevent ARVI, it is also recommended to wash your hands with soap more often, carry an antiseptic or wet wipes with you, drink more water, eat right and get enough sleep.

If cold symptoms have already appeared, you should limit communication with other people so as not to spread the infection. If you feel worse, you should consult a doctor, as ARVI can lead to complications, including pneumonia, otitis media and sinusitis.
