A resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was convicted of cutting down state forest worth 15 million rubles

The court recognized the resident Bolshemurtinsky district is guilty of illegal logging of forest plantations on an especially large scale, reports the prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
It has been established that in In 2022, a man purchased an agricultural plot of land near the village of Malorossiyka, and later decided to prepare it for use and clear it of trees. To do this, he found a contractor through an advertisement, concluded an agreement with him, after which equipment entered the plot and work began.
“The cut trees were skidded to loading docks and then transported by logging trucks. Over the course of several weeks, 192 pine and birch trees were cut down with a total volume of more than 687 cubic meters. Later it turned out that part of the site overlapped with forest fund lands. At the same time, the owner did not receive the necessary approval for the reclamation project, and the felling was actually carried out on the territory of the state forest,” the supervisory agency said.
According to Part 3 of Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the court sentenced the defendant to 3 years of forced labor with the withholding of 10% of the salary to the state, and also recovered from him the damage caused – more than 15.2 million rubles.
