Manchester United have announced a 5% increase in season ticket prices for the 2026/27 season, a move that has sparked outrage from the club's supporters' groups.

It will be the fourth consecutive rise in ticket prices at Old Trafford, after a run of 11 seasons in which prices have remained unchanged. The management of the club claims that the measure is necessary to maintain the competitiveness of the team and to support investments in infrastructure.

Manchester United are increasing season ticket prices for the 2026/27 season

We want to continue to invest in the team and improve our facilities so that fans have the best possible experience. We also need to ensure that the club remains financially sustainable, taking into account inflation and general cost increases“, the club's press release states.

Officials said the increase is just over two pounds more per game for adults and around one pound for under-16s.

The reaction of the fans

The decision was criticized by the Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST), which said fans were forced to pay more and more to watch the team at the stadium.

The organization also criticized the club's decision to relocate around 600 spectators from the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand to create more seats for VIP hospitality packages.

It is disappointing that the club ignored our appeal. It is enough“, MUST representatives said. However, they appreciated the fact that no additional restrictions were introduced on the sharing of subscriptions, nor stricter rules on their minimum use.
