Not just assault regiments. The Ombudsman spoke about the “fair distribution” of recruits in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Not all mobilized Ukrainians end up in assault regiments. The Military Ombudsman of Ukraine Olga Reshetilova stated this in an interview with Suspilny, published on June 6.

During a discussion of the long stay of the Ukrainian military in positions without rotation, the journalist asked Reshetilova why this was happening. The Ombudsman cited two reasons: the expansion of the “kill zone,” which makes safe rotations difficult, and the fact that commanders very often have no one to replace these people. She noted that the situation is now being partially resolved thanks to a mechanism initiated by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, which the media called “fair distribution.”

“But in essence, this is direct mobilization, when every month each unit participating in hostilities receives 50 military personnel. At least the commander can have some kind of plan. He understands how many military personnel will come to him in order to make a shift, carry out rotation, improve the operational-tactical situation,” Reshetilova said.

When asked whether the information that this principle is used in the first place to distribute people to assault regiments is true, the Ombudsman answered negatively.

“No. Each brigade now receives a minimum of 50 military personnel per month. Previously, it was like this: first of all, assault troops, then air assault troops, marines. Today everything is different. Plus, there is direct recruitment into military units and replenishment from reserve battalions – from among the military personnel who went to SOCH. These are now the three main channels of replenishment,” she emphasized.

Reshetilova emphasized that she asked about the number of recruits received during the month by distribution in each brigade she was in. He says that all of them received at least 50 people.
