Krasnoyarsk doctors shared their experience with doctors from the Nizhny Novgorod region

Doctors from the Nizhny Novgorod region visited Krasnoyarsk on a working visit, the regional Ministry of Health reported.

The Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, recommended that specialists from Nizhny Novgorod study the best practices of several medical organizations in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in implementing a quality management system. The delegation was headed by Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrei Checherin and the Minister of Health of the region Galina Mikhailova. Together with them came the chief doctors of healthcare institutions and the head of the social projects unit of the ANO “Project Office for the Development Strategy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region”.

Over the course of two days, the delegation visited the regional oncology clinic, Krasnoyarsk interdistrict clinic No. 5, the center for maternal and child health, the regional clinical hospital and Krasnoyarsk interdistrict clinical hospital No. 4.

Krasnoyarsk specialists shared their experience of preparing for certification and the results of implementing this system with their Nizhny Novgorod colleagues.

“We demonstrated to the guests the organization of the work of the centralized drug dispensing department, the emergency department and palliative care, as well as a simulation class where educational seminars and trainings are held for medical workers. Of particular interest was the model of operation of surgical departments, as well as the project of schools for cancer patients. The results of implementing a quality management system are already noticeable: optimization of processes and multi-level control, such as analysis of adverse events, helped reduce the number of complications, as well as reduce the number of infections associated with the provision of medical care,” said Ruslan Zukov, chief physician of the regional oncology clinic.

The experience of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was highly appreciated by the guests and can be used in the implementation of a quality management system in medical organizations in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

On the second day of the visit, the delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister of the region Alexey Medvedev. During the meeting, the parties discussed the best healthcare practices of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Nizhny Novgorod Region in territorial planning, as well as in providing preferential medicines and resolving personnel issues.

The Krasnoyarsk delegation was invited to Nizhny Novgorod for a return visit.
