What happens to the body during sedentary work? The Washington Post analyzed research and expert opinions and came to interesting conclusions.
If you spend more than 8 hours a day sitting:

▪️Due to the lack of mobility, the muscles do not contract and cease to effectively absorb glucose, which interferes with regulating the level of sugar and fats in the blood.
▪️When we sit, the curve of our legs is like a bent hose. It restricts blood circulation in the legs – this leads to hardening of the blood vessels, increasing the risk of stroke and heart disease.
▪️Muscles lose strength, and at the same time the posture deteriorates, which causes chronic neck and back pain.
▪️Sitting for hours on a regular basis is associated with an increased risk of cancer, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, depression and cognitive impairment.

An effective way to protect yourself is to regularly change positions, get up, warm up and take several breaks for a walk.
