According to Mash, 90% of the berries died in the central regions of Russia, where industrial production is established – in the Kursk, Lipetsk, Bryansk regions and in the north of Rostov. Suppliers are preparing to double prices – last year 1 kg cost about 3k rubles.
Strawberries are widely used in making sweets – now it will be the most expensive ingredient for cakes, pastries, jams and preserves. Also used in pharmaceuticals – in the production of drugs for hypertension.
Mash previously wrote that the May cold destroyed all the plantations of Lipetsk suppliers of apples and strawberries. Because of this, prices for baby food and juices “Lubimy”, J7, “Fruit Garden”, “Ya” will rise up to 30%. At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation is going to introduce a federal emergency regime due to damage to the crop.
