The Trukha team visited the rehabilitation center TYTANOVwhere Ukrainian defenders are helped to restore the functionality of their limbs after amputations. In particular, through osseointegration — implantation of titanium implants into bones. In three years, 116 such operations were performed.
Swedish surgeon, orthopedist and inventor of prosthetics Rikard Branemark joined the meeting, as well as leading orthopedic surgeons and physiotherapists, veterans of the rehabilitation center and the first patient in the world who first underwent bone augmentation and then performed osseointegration — Denys Gotlinskyi.
We were impressed by the innovativeness and complexity of technologies mastered and successfully applied by Ukrainian doctors. And the boundless courage of people who survived severe injuries, rehabilitation and returned to life at full strength.
