Researchers excluded from a medical conference in the US, after criticizing the Trump administration's policy in the scientific field

Several top diabetes researchers have been excluded from a major medical conference in the United States after criticizing the scientific policies of President Donald Trump's administration.

The researchers were escorted out of the conference of the American Diabetes Association, held in New Orleans, shortly before the scheduled speech of the director of the National Institute of Health, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, reports Rador Radio Romania on Saturday, citing the American press.

The scientists were distributing copies of an article in the association's journal, which included a warning that cuts in federal research funding could jeopardize advances in diabetes treatment. The organizers of the event stated that the group of researchers were violating the code of conduct and they were asked to stop distributing the materials.

Some of the researchers accuse the association of censorship and say that they fear the increasing political pressure on medical research.
