The Kremlin spokesman was asked about Donald Trump's people. “Not expected”

The Kremlin's position was reported by the Reuters Agency, citing Russian media. Journalists asked the Russian president's spokesman about a possible visit by American negotiators. “No, it is not expected,” replied Peskov.
Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine have stalled
Mediations between Moscow and Kiev, led by both Trump envoys, stalled at the end of February this year. As Reuters reminds, this was influenced by the war of the United States and Israel against Iran, which diverted Washington's attention from the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations. Since then, diplomatic talks on ending the fighting in Ukraine have been suspended.
Despite the suspension of peace talks, Washington and Moscow continue to maintain contacts. On Thursday, Kirill Dmitriev, Vladimir Putin's adviser on investments and economic cooperation, announced that he had contacted both Witkoff and Kushner the day before. According to him, the parties continue to discuss economic issues, including the energy sector.
Earlier talks between the two Americans and the chief negotiator of the Ukrainian side, Rustem Umerov, took place in Florida. They resulted in a three-day ceasefire announced by Trump between Russia and Ukraine. It was valid from May 9-11 and coincided with the anniversary of the end of World War II.
