Possible interruptions of IT services this weekend, ANAF warns

The National Tax Administration Agency (ANAF) announces that between June 5-8, 2026 scheduled maintenance and optimization works will take place on the technical infrastructure that supports the IT systems of the Ministry of Finance and ANAF.

The interventions aim to improve performance, increase security and strengthen the stability of digital services intended for taxpayers and partner institutions.

ANAF warns that, after the completion of the works, users may face temporary malfunctions or delays in accessing IT services that support treasury and tax administration activities.

Technical teams will constantly monitor the process and intervene to limit the impact. Taxpayers are advised to take into account possible delays when accessing the electronic services of the institution in the period immediately following the maintenance.

In April 2025, ANAF had announced another maintenance window of April 4–7, 2025 – during which services would operate “with partial or total interruptions.” Then, immediately followed the announcement for the period June 8-10, 2026. Basically, maintenance is a constant, not exceptions.

The wider context: legacy systems, ongoing digitization

ANAF is working on a new IT system based on Big Data technologies (SIDI). It will handle huge volumes of data and perform real-time analysis to detect tax non-compliance. Its operationalization is expected for the middle of 2026. This means that the current infrastructure on which tax services run is, for the most part, old and under increasing pressure, and new reporting obligations (e-Invoice, e-TVA, SAF-T) are added

Practical conclusion

It's a familiar cycle: aging systems + accelerated digitization + frequent maintenance windows amplify the real risk of unavailability. Taxpayers with tight deadlines should not leave deposits or payments “last mile” during the announced periods.
