What 1000 Romanians say on the Internet about the responsibility for the drone that crashed in Galați

Two-thirds of those interviewed say that the drone that crashed in the city of Galati and injured two people was launched by Russia, but only half say that Russia must bear the consequences of the May 29 incident alone, according to a study conducted by Impactum Insights, at the request of the Ethical Media Alliance.
- The research is not scientific and has no representative value either at the national level or at the level of Bucharest. The authors state that “the results reflect the opinions of internet users in Romania and cannot be automatically extrapolated to the entire population”.
- The interviews were conducted online on June 2 among 1,000 people with Internet access. According to Impactum Insights, the study has a 3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level.
The incident is well known to the public in Romania, according to the survey. Only 2.7% of those interviewed said they had not heard about the crashed drone in Galati. In contrast, 62.8% said they were aware of the incident and followed the news closely.
The seriousness of the incident is not contested by the Romanians either. Thus, 58.6% say that it is “very serious”, while 33.8% categorize it as “quite serious”.

A quarter of interviewees see a common fault between Russia and Ukraine
Two-thirds of respondents (66.8%) say that the drone that hit the block in Galati was launched by Russia, while 20.5% believe that Ukraine.

When asked about responsibility for the incident, 50.1% point to Russia alone, while 24.1% say Russia and Ukraine are equally to blame. Ukraine as the sole responsible is indicated by 13.8%.
