Jewelry. Kerimov's close friendship with Vajno began in the mid-2000s, when Vajno worked as the deputy head of presidential protocol, i.e., he was responsible for the work schedule, travels and meetings of the head of state. Kerimov's path to the Kremlin was opened by the ambassador of famous brands Christian Louboutin and Agent Provocateur in Russia, the owner of luxury Moscow boutiques Ajsel Trudel.
Trudel is the sister of Kerimov's business partner, Kamran Huseynovand at the same time knows the Wajno family well thanks to the fact that the wife of the current head of the presidential administration, Yelena Shulenkois a lover of luxury. Trudel gave the Wajno family expensive gifts (jewelry and paintings) from Kerimov.
Plot in an elite district. Kerimov owns two plots of land in Serebrny Bor, a green district of Moscow where Moscow's elite have settled since Soviet times. The businessman bought one of them in 2015 for one of his life partners. By 2022, a huge house was built on the plot, and in 2025, the oligarch also took over the neighboring plot. Kerimov's former business partner claims that this piece of land is intended for the Wajno family.
Yacht. In 2022, Kerimov gave Vajno a 46-meter yacht “Marlon”. Previously, it was registered to the offshore company of a businessman associated with Kerimov, who managed Kerimov's properties on the French Riviera in France.
We do not know to whom the yacht is currently registered, but it regularly sails on the Black Sea, the Volga and the Svir River in the Leningrad Oblast. A person who took part in the transaction of transferring ownership of the ship told the independent news website Projekt that Kerimov gave the yacht to Vajno. We found photos of Anton Wajno's relatives – his wife's niece and her husband – on the yacht (photos below).

What did Kerimov get in return? Access to the president. One of Kerimov's friends calls Vaino the “main secret” of the Dagestani billionaire's success: – He knows Putin's schedule, can deliver documents or introduce a guest. Kerimov is one of those who can reach Putin, admits a source close to the Kremlin, explaining that Vaino has already organized several confidential meetings between the businessman and the president.
In several cases, these meetings saved Kerimov from serious trouble. Kerimov met with Putin during the conflict with Alexander Lukashenko, when the Belarusian dictator tried to take over the billionaire's company operating in Belarus. Another meeting took place after Kerimov was detained in France in November 2017.
