The latest “Report on the condition of the commune for 2025” shows that Kraków is currently the fastest growing city in Poland, although in terms of area and population it still ranks second, after Warsaw, reports RMF FM.
The data shows that in 2025, 816,000 people lived in Krakow. 614 people. In 2024, it was 809 thousand. 168 people. This means that the number of inhabitants increased by 7,000. 446 people.

The capital of Małopolska also records an increase in the number of marriages – from 4,000 to 260 in 2024 to 4 thousand 477 in 2025, as well as a decrease in the number of deaths (from 7,559 in 2024 to 7,374 in 2025).
Moreover, in 2025, 6,000 children were born in Krakow. 980 children – in this case there was a decrease of 1.1%. (out of 7,57 children in 2024). The city's natural growth was negative, but it was better than a year earlier (-394 people in 2025; -502 people in 2024). The natural growth rate was: -0.5%.
Migration is a plus

Therefore, it was in Krakow that the increase in the number of inhabitants last year turned out to be the highest – it amounted to 0.92%. In second place was Warsaw (0.15%), followed by Gdańsk (0.14%). Decreases were recorded in Wrocław (-0.14%), Poznań (-0.36%) and Łódź (-0.9%).
