The press in Italy claims that Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation of Pierre Kalulu, (25 years old), the central defender from Juventus.
The footballer had a solid season with the “Bianconeri” team, participating in 49 matches, in which he scored two goals and provided seven decisive assists.
The centre-back is under contract until 2029, but the two sides are at serious odds over the Old Lady's attempts to renew the player's current deal.
Juventus had a disappointing season and ultimately missed out on qualifying for the Champions League, complicating their financial situation. Local media claim that all players can currently be sold if a good offer comes in, with the only intangible being Turkey's Kenan Yildız.
Manchester United want Pierre Kalulu
Manchester United have been impressed with Kalulu's performances and his ability to also play on the right flank of the defense if needed. Corrierre dello Sport notes that the English are seriously considering making an offer for Pierre Kalulu this transfer window.
The management at “Old Trafford” is worried about the continuing physical problems of players such as Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, as well as the advanced age of Harry Maguire, who is already 33 years old and could hardly play three games a week.
Not much confidence was shown in Lenny Yoro, who had a below-par second season and was often benched under the team's new coach.
Kalulu is quoted at 32 million euros, according to transfermarkt.com.
