Employees of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk and SGK took part in the “Green Marathon”, which was held in Krasnoyarsk along with the all-Russian campaign “I Choose Clean Air”.

The environmental race brought together Krasnoyarsk residents and city guests of different ages at various distances – from family and children's races to the main marathon routes.

For the participants of the all-Russian conference “Clean Air: How Cities are Changing for the Better,” which was held the day before in Krasnoyarsk – experts, representatives of government, business and science, who also took part in the race, the conversation about clean air continued not in the conference hall, but at the Green Marathon distance.

“The topic of clean air should not remain only in reports and meetings. It concerns everyone. Therefore, it is important when the environmental agenda reaches the city and unites people of different ages and professions,” said Oleg Bubnovsky, General Director of Yenisei TGC (TGK-13) JSC.

At SUEK-Krasnoyarsk and SGK, support for sports has long been part of the corporate culture. Employees regularly participate in competitions, family sports events and public races.

The “Choose Clean Air” campaign is held in support of the federal project “Clean Air” and unites residents of dozens of Russian cities. Its participants make simple choices in favor of movement, sports and a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.

“Tens of billions of rubles have been invested in environmental projects in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. But big changes begin not only with technology, but with people – their habits, choices and willingness to participate in such initiatives,” says Yulia Chizhova, Deputy Technical Director for Environmental Protection of SGC.

One of the best results of the marathon was the victory of Natalya Zima, an employee of the Nazarovsky open-pit mine. At a distance of 10 kilometers, she finished first among women.

“For me it was not just a start. Such events bring together people who are close to sports, movement and concern for the environment. Victory is nice, but the main thing is to be part of such a big event,” says Natalya Zima.
