“Shame on them! That's how we Romanians are”

He recognized the superiority of Ilfoven and apologized to the supporters from Sibiu.
He praised his players for the character they have shown in recent months, despite financial problems, and dusted off Szabolcs Kovacs' brigade.

Asked if he will continue at Hermannstadt and in B, Dorinel Munteanu let it be understood that no, and the management must build a strategy to ensure Hermannstadt's return to the Superliga.
“What had to happen happened, although I hoped, I believed until the last moment. Of course, I can't say that the match was decided in the first leg. I didn't play a good game, today I deserved to lose. The players fell mentally, physically. What can I say?
We are sorry for our supporters, for Sibiu, for the city, for all those involved, but in recent months it has been difficult to manage the situation for us.
I personally did everything I could as a coach. There were many problems, it is not necessary to debate them now, but it is an unfortunate moment for Sibiu.
The players wanted it. I really want to congratulate them. The last 3-4 months have not been easy, but it is hard now to find the words, because I am reconciled that I did everything I could professionally.
I had a lot of faith in Kovacs, in the brigade. What can I say now? I would be ashamed to argue some things that have been seen. I would be very ashamed and what arguments they came up with, including from VAR.
It's contact play, they both fought for the ball. Shame on them, that's all I can say! Honestly, I believed in Kovacs, but that's the situation. We are the ones who suffer, they move on. One team rejoices, the other cries. Unfortunately, it's us, but know that the players did everything possible.
I don't know. Only management can answer this question (no – if staying in Hermannstadt). They manage both the coaches and the players who will stay, but if they don't improve from things, know that it will be very difficult. I don't know what their decision is, but we will see in the next few days.
That's how we Romanians are, to throw a relegation on the coach, but know that a coach, no matter how good he is, if he doesn't have conditions, he has nothing to do. I don't feel wronged, I feel fulfilled that I did everything possible to save this team”, said Dorinel Munteanu, at Prima Sport.
I have all my time in Sibiu in the statistics. I don't want to comment now. It is a sad moment for me and Sibiu, but it is not the end of the country for me and Sibiu. To have the strength to rise, to build a new team starting from the bottom. They need to make changes.
I want to calm down a bit. My contract is ending because I failed to keep the team in Ligue 1, and that was the goal. There have been many problems since I joined the team. We are all troubled. If you look at where we took the team from, you also know what conditions they were in here. But, together with my staff, I think we did everything possible to keep the team in the Superliga.
