Krasnoyarsk residents ran the “Green Marathon” together with Ilya Averbukh and contributed to helping children who need treatment

On May 30, the SberPrime Green Marathon of Sber took place on Tatyshev Island (eastern entrance) in Krasnoyarsk. The event combined both running competitions at various distances and a large family celebration on the eve of summer and Children's Day.

This year, the “SberPrime Green Marathon” was opened and all races started by Ilya Averbukh, a famous Russian figure skater, Olympic medalist, world champion and European champion, winner of the Grand Prix final and multiple champion of Russia in ice dancing. He ran the main distance (4.2 km) together with the race participants.

In total, about 6,000 citizens gathered to overcome various sports distances and support environmental and charitable activities. 3850 runners started the races.

Athletes could choose a distance to suit every taste: children competed in 500 meters and 1 kilometer. Adults aged 14 and over ran 4.2 kilometers, professionals – 10 kilometers. Traditionally, Nordic walking and an inclusive route for participants with disabilities took place.

There were also races in support of the All-Russian environmental campaign “I Choose Clean Air”, which included 2 distances – 5 km and 1 walking eco-kilometer.

For the first time, as part of the Green Marathon in Krasnoyarsk, a new route was presented – a 500-meter walrus swim in the Yenisei. The winners and runners-up of the races were awarded medals and valuable prizes from the organizers and partners.

In addition, as part of the Green Marathon, Sber contributed to the landscaping of Tatyshev Island by planting rowan and barberry trees for the new summer season.

Krasnoyarsk residents came with their families to the Green Marathon, dedicated to Children's Day: they took part in festive activities, in a charity quiz for valuable prizes – a scooter, certificates for recreation centers, sports stores.

“This year we held the 13th Green Marathon. In addition to the traditional distances in our city, we presented a new distance – a 500-meter walrus swim in the Yenisei. Despite the rainy weather, runners and corporate partner teams supported the tradition, covered the race routes, and came with their families to the celebration. I thank all the partners who supported the event. Together we awarded race winners and charity quiz participants. But the main thing is that we ran with a purpose: saving the lives of children who found themselves in a critical situation. For every kilometer that participants ran in all cities, Sber will transfer 185 rubles to the “Investment in the Future” fund for the treatment of children with oncology and complex diagnoses,” noted Alexander Nuikin, manager of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Sberbank.

Based on the results of the SberPrime Green Marathon, more than 250 million rubles will be allocated to charitable projects.
Of this, Sber will transfer 185 million rubles for the treatment of young patients with serious diagnoses. Another more than 65 million rubles collected as part of a traditional charity event on the SberVmeste platform will go to support children with special needs and experience of orphanhood.
