June 2 17:30

June 5 in Krasnoyarsk at the museum-estate of V.I. Surikov, the annual arts festival “Bear Zhukha” starts. This was reported to the mayor's office.

The event will bring together professional artists, historians, musicians, and designers. The festival is based on the connection between Russia and Siberia with the image of the bear. During three festival days – June 5, 6 and 7, the main stage will operate in the clearing, where the best creative groups of the city and region will perform.

On June 5 at 15:00 the program will open with a performance by the orchestra of Russian folk instruments “Yeniseyushko” of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Palace of Pioneers. At 16:30 for little spectators they will show “A Story with Transformations” from the theater studio “We Play!”

On June 6 at 14:00, storyteller Dmitry Vasyanovich will tell “Magic stories about bears.” On June 7 from 13:30 there will be interactive performances from the Kangaroo People's Theater and the mime theater “Chasing Two Hares”. Also this year, collector of antique teddy bears Irina Shagivaleeva will join the festival. She will present part of her collection.

The estate will feature the voices of the folk song ensemble “Vechernitsy”, the children’s ensemble “Tuesok”, the family folklore studio “Pimochki” and the folklore studio “Bakole”.

A mandatory component of the program is master classes from professional artists and masters of decorative and applied arts, a fair with designer souvenirs and sites from partners. The festival will end with a concert of the folk instrumental group “Sibir-band”.

Traditionally, there will be an exhibition dedicated to the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia and the theme of traveling around the country.

“This year we decided to go on a fantasy trip around Russia and invited the participants of the competition-exhibition to decorate the accessories that we usually take with us on the road with images of traveler bears. These can be fabric bags or suitcases. The imagination of the creators here is limitless,” noted Larisa Gavrishina, head of the art department of the Center for Creative Development and Humanitarian Education.

A detailed program can be found on the website of the Museum-Estate of V. I. Surikov. Admission to the exhibition and concert is free.
