FC Argeș announced the transfer of the Cypriot Evagoras Antoniou (23 years old), left free of contract after parting with APOEL Nicosia.
The central defender was introduced through a video, made with the help of artificial intelligence, showing his “journey” from Cyprus to Pitesti. The video ended with a short message from the player who is currently in the training camp of the Cyprus national team.

Evagoras Antoniou has been on the circuit of the Cyprus national team since last year, and he was on the bench in the match against Romania in the World Cup qualifiers, won by the “tricolors” 2-0. He made his debut for the national team in March, in a friendly with Moldova. He played 5 minutes.
Evagoras Antoniou trained at the AEL Limassol academy. He also played for Kouris Erimis, the second team of Panathinaikos, AD Ceuta, AEZ Zakakiou, APOEL Nicosia and Omonia Aradippou.
Evagoras Antoniou is a central defender, but he can also play as a right back or defensive midfielder. He is 1.87 and is right-footed. Last season he played 18 matches for APOEL. He didn't score or provide any assists.
