United Russia gives voters the right to form a list of party candidates through an open popular vote. More than 10 million Russians made their preliminary choice. Since 2009, participation in the preliminary voting procedure is mandatory for all United Russia candidates.
“The level of competition was very high. On average, almost 12 people applied for 1st place in the State Duma, 7 each expressed a desire to run for regional parliaments,” said party chairman Dmitry Medvedev.
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, almost 250 thousand people took part in the preliminary voting for United Russia – more than 12% of the total number of voters in the region.
During the preliminary voting, 1,300 applications were received from SVO fighters at all levels of elections, 480 of them became winners of the preliminary voting. In total, 22 thousand applications were registered.
“This is a good result. And the best proof is that people in general trust our comrades – those who are veterans who participated in the SVO. The President has repeatedly talked about how important it is to help them find themselves in a new life, and management and public administration are, of course, the most important thing that can be in terms of using the strengths of these people. Veterans of the special operation also showed their worth during communication with citizens. I hope they are all focused on practical results,” Dmitry Medvedev emphasized.
One of the fundamental principles in the work of United Russia is maximum openness and readiness for dialogue with people. Based on residents’ proposals, a new People’s Program continues to be prepared, which has already received over 1.5 million important initiatives from all regions of the country.
