“We've trained so many times together this season. The last time we played was in Linz. It was a very tough match. We won in 3 sets, but I don't know. She's played incredible so far. She's a wonderful person and a great competitor. She always gives her best on the court,” Andreeva said.
“I know it very well because, I don't know why, we trained together at almost every tournament we played. So it will be a very interesting, very exciting game. She is obviously a very difficult opponent,” she added.
“She's playing the best tennis of her life right now. I mean, I don't want to overshadow the previous seasons. But she's had a great season so far. It's going to be a fantastic match and I'm super excited to play her,” the world number 8 concluded.
The match between Cîrstea and Andreeva will be played on Tuesday, June 2, in Paris. Between the two players is an age difference of 17 years and 22 daysthe biggest in the last 35 years between two opponents in the quarters of a Grand Slam tournament.
