Supporters of the Lighthouse, swearing at the DexOnline.ro website
To the surprise of many viewers, the Lighthouse lawn displayed the message “M*** DexOnline”.
The site chose this week's “word of the day” the term “cretinism”, accompanied by a graphic interpreted by many as an overlap between “cretin” and “Christian”.
DexOnline's controversial post
The controversy immediately escalated after several users accused the platform of using a visual game that suggested an offensive association between Christians and the pejorative meaning of the word “moron”.
DexOnline used the word “cretinism”, defined as a disease caused by thyrodian insufficiency, but also figuratively meaning “idiocy, stupidity, stupidity”.
The controversy also sparked an intervention from the church area. Father Adrian Agachi, the spokesperson of the Romanian Patriarchate, commented on this gesture, which he categorized as “unacceptable”.
The Patria Prima organization filed a criminal complaint against DexOnline and its president, Radu Borza, according to stiripesource.ro.
Not even Andras Istvan Demeter escaped the insults of the Lighthouse supporters
The Lighthouse supporters also displayed another offensive message, “M*** A. Istvan”, aimed at the resigned Minister of Culture.
Politician from the UDMR, Demeter Andras Istvan, resigned on May 25 from the position of Minister of Culture, after a shocking video recording with him as the protagonist appeared in the media.
In the public space, the scandal took off after the dignitary was heard using unclassifiable language: “I sell the radio to the Russians for 5 million (euros) and put my p*** in the national interest, because I'm Hungarian.”
the recording captures a discussion about a criminal case from the period 2011-2012 (subsequently closed), opened after Radio Romania, under the leadership of Demeter, had acquired Radio Chisinau to block the takeover of the license by a Russian trust and to diminish Moscow's influence in the Republic of Moldova, a blow given by our country to Moscow at that time,” according to Libertatea.
