A special police vehicle was stopped in traffic, on May 31, by a crew from the Traffic Police because it allegedly traveled through the municipality of Galati at a speed exceeding the legal limit. The leadership of the Galati County Police Inspectorate ordered checks to establish all the circumstances in which the incident took place and to clarify the action of the personnel involved, informs News.ro.
IPJ Galaţi informs that, following the appearance, in the online environment, of some images showing the traffic stop of a police vehicle by a road crew, from the first checks it emerged that, on May 31, 2026, police officers of the Galati Road Bureau detected in traffic a police vehicle belonging to Section 1 of the Galati Rural Police, which was traveling in the municipality of Galaţi at a speed exceeding the legal limit admitted.
“Preliminary checks indicated that the crew in the stopped vehicle had previously intervened in an event notified by calling the single emergency number 112, in Frumuşita, and was moving to the headquarters of the subunit to complete the documents and procedural activities related to the intervention. Taking into account the established situation, the leadership of the Galati County Police Inspectorate ordered the carrying out of checks to establish all the circumstances in which the event occurred, as well as to clarify the manner of action of the staff involved”, states the cited source.
According to the same source, upon completion of the checks, the necessary legal and administrative measures will be ordered, depending on the resulting conclusions.
