Tough reaction from Washington after the drone incident in Galati. The strong message for Russia from a senior Republican official

The head of the Committee on Foreign Relations in the US Senate, Republican Senator Jim Risch, condemned on Saturday, in a post on the X network, the serious incident caused by the crash of a drone on the 10-story building in the city of Galati.
“Russia's irresponsible violation of Romanian airspace and disrespect for civilians is unacceptable. The United States stands with Romania and our NATO allies against this provocative behavior,” wrote Jim Risch on X, quoted by Agerpres.
“We must strengthen our deterrence capacity and make it clear that we will not give up a single square inch of NATO territory,” the chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee emphasized.

In the night from Thursday to Friday, a drone crashed on a block of flats in Galati, the impact being followed by an explosion and the outbreak of a fire.
According to the Romanian Ministry of Defense, the cargo of the Geran-2 drone, of Russian origin, exploded at the moment of impact.
Both the Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, and the head of Romanian diplomacy, Oana Țoiu, emphasized that the drone was of Russian manufacture, although Russian President Vladimir Putin questioned this information and demanded an independent analysis by Moscow.
The incident drew messages of condemnation from leaders in Europe and NATO, as well as several EU and Alliance member states.
