Nicușor Dan published pictures of the remains of the crashed drone in Galati and announced the conclusions of the technical report. “The only one responsible is Russia”

“The drone that crashed Thursday night in Galaţi is Geran-2, of Russian origin,” President Nicușor Dan said on Saturday, in a post in which he presents details from the authorities' report.
In his message, Nicușor Dan does not mention that the trajectory of the drone had changed after it was hit by Ukraine's defense means, as he had previously stated.
According to the president, “the undoubted conclusion of the technical report completed by the Romanian state specialists” is that the drone that fell on the housing block in the municipality of Galați, on the night of Thursday to Friday, was of Russian origin, of the Geran-2 type.
Nicușor Dan says that this conclusion was drawn “on the basis of a consistent body of technical evidence”.
“The inscription in Cyrillic characters “ГЕРАН-2″ was identified on the recovered fragments, and the electronic components, navigation systems, control modules, engine and constructive elements analyzed show similarities to the point of identity with those of other Geran-2 drones previously recovered on the territory of Romania and identified with certainty as being manufactured in the Russian Federation”, explained the head of state.
He specified that the report also shows that “the manufacturing markings, technical inscriptions, construction characteristics and materials used follow the same technological process found in the Geran-2 drones analyzed in recent years.”
“Physico-chemical analyzes confirmed the presence of the same types of materials and fuels repeatedly identified in devices from this series. Based on all these elements, the investigation unequivocally concludes that the fragments recovered in Galati come from a Geran-2 drone of Russian origin,” added Nicușor Dan.
“The results of this investigation will be communicated to our allies”
The President stated that “the safety of Romanian citizens and the integrity of the national territory are fundamental obligations of the Romanian state and will be defended with all firmness”.
“The fact that such a device hit a block of flats in Romania, causing injuries and material damage, is of particular gravity, and the only one responsible is Russia,” Nicușor Dan also declared.
The head of state stated that Romania will inform its allies about the conclusions of the investigation.
“The results of this investigation will be communicated to our allies and the competent structures within NATO and the European Union. Romania will continue to act together with its partners to strengthen security at the Eastern border of the Alliance and to protect its citizens. Romania will not ignore or minimize any incident that endangers the lives of its citizens, national security or the sovereignty of the Romanian state”, concluded President Dan.
What Putin had said about the origin of the drone and how Bucharest reacted
In statements made on Friday, the Russian president questioned the Russian origin of the drone that hit the block of flats in Galati.
“I don't know what kind of drone exploded in Romania. Send us the remains,” Vladimir Putin told reporters, quoted by the Kyiv Post.
Also on Friday, in a press conference later held at the Ministry of Defense, the interim Minister of Defense from Romania denied the speculations “that the drone, which created the incident this morning, was not Russian”.
“We invite those in Russia who believe that there are details that make this drone not Russian, starting tomorrow, to come to the headquarters of the General Intelligence Directorate of the Army, where they can look for the serial number on the products manufactured in Russia. I understand this fog induced around Russia's aggression against Ukraine, but what was found there is, based on the series of the respective components, undoubtedly a Russian-made product”, declared Radu Miruță.
