[P] The first online preparation platform for the specialty exam in Romania was launched

The medical educational ecosystem in Romania is taking a major step forward. Starting February 17, 2026, resident doctors have, for the first time, access to a digital tool exclusively dedicated to the most important stage of their post-graduate career: the specialty exam. Developed by the Marsilian company, creators of the established Grile-Rezidentiat.ro, the new platform Grile-Specialitate.ro promises to digitize and streamline the learning process for the title of specialist doctor. The platform can be tested for free, with unlimited access, until March 15, 2026.
For busy professionals
After years in which preparation for the specialized exam meant solitary study from voluminous treatises, without the possibility of standardized self-assessment, technology is changing the paradigm. launching Grile-Specialitate.ro it comes as a natural response to an acute need of the medical community: the lack of time and the need for a clear structure of learning in a period of extremely busy professional life. In addition, the examination modality changes starting from the autumn session of 2026, being with unique subjects at the national level, “as in residency”, in the words of the Minister of Health.
If for the Residency exam students have whole months dedicated exclusively to study, the reality of the resident and almost specialist doctor is completely different. He has to juggle grueling guard duty, hospital responsibilities, family life and a huge amount of material. The new platform was built precisely on this premise: maximum efficiency in the limited time between patients.
From a unified theme to “58 distinct universes”
The challenge of developing this platform was significantly greater than previous projects. Unlike the residency entrance exam, where all candidates learn from the same bibliography, the specialty exam fragments medicine into dozens of directions.
“If for residency you have a unitary theme, the specialty exam is a collection of distinct universes. Basically, we are talking about approximately 58 specialties, each with its specific bibliography and particular requirements. Grile-Specialitate.ro is, in essence, a project on the scale of dozens of platforms in one.” explains Dr. Mihai Voinea, Marsilian co-founder.
For this reason, the rollout is a phased but robust one. At the time of launch, the platform already covers over 30 specialties, including the subjects with the largest number of residents. The editorial team is continuously working on expanding the database, adapting the content to the real demand from the community and the dynamics of the official bibliographies.
“There are 8 specialties in dentistry, and 4 specialties in pharmacy. The plan is to cover these as well, but we are asking medical professionals who are interested in our technology to help us with the bibliographic materials. The effort is colossal”, explains Dr. Dragoș Voinea.
Technology adapted for “10 minutes free”
The central concept of Grile-Specialitate.ro is not only the digitization of information, but its transformation into “micro-learning”. The platform was designed for the doctor, dentist or pharmacist who has 10 minutes free between two consultations or during a break on duty.
Users who are already familiar with the Marsilian ecosystem (Grile-Admitere.ro and Grile-Rezidentiat.ro) will find the same intuitive user experience, but with new functionalities, adapted to the complexity of the specialized subject matter:
- Advanced Visual Schematization (Mindmaps): The platform turns thousands of pages of theory into easy-to-follow logic diagrams. These “visual maps” provide an overview of pathologies and therapeutic algorithms, being the ideal tool for those with a visual memory who want to avoid linear re-reading of treatises.
- Library of Essential Syntheses: Study time is optimized by access to ready-made summaries. The editorial team has condensed the bibliography of each specialty into clear materials that extract only the relevant information, perfect for a quick recap between guards.
- Information retention technology (Flashcards): Based on the principle of spaced repetition, this module is the “antidote” to forgetfulness. It allows the fixation of volatile data (numbers, doses, classifications) through short and intense sessions of active memorization, adapted to the doctor's level of fatigue.
- Assessment explained, not just testing: The grid module goes beyond the classic simulation format. Each question benefits from detailed and reasoned explanations, turning the test session into a lesson in itself, where the user understands the logic behind the correct answer and reinforces their knowledge in real time.
“We've removed everything that confuses you. It's a technology built for your busy reality, not an ideal scenario. Our goal is for you to get your freedom with minimal stress.” convey the developers of the platform.
A complete medical training ecosystem
The launch of Grile-Specialitate.ro marks the maturation of a complete Romanian educational ecosystem. Marsilian, the company founded by doctors Mihai and Dragoș Voinea, thus manages to cover the entire training path of a doctor in Romania: from the moment of admission to the faculty (via Grile-Admitere.ro), to the critical moment of Residency (via Grile-Rezidentiat.ro), until obtaining the title of Specialist.
This continuity ensures not only a constant quality of the educational act, but also a familiarity with the learning method. Doctors who have prepared for Residency on Grile-Rezidentiat.ro will find the transition to specialized study much easier, maintaining discipline and rigor, but benefiting from superior tools.
Moreover, the current context favors such an approach. Increasingly frequent discussions about the introduction of unique subjects at the national level for the specialty exam, possibly in the form of a grid, make this platform an indispensable tool. Even in the absence of grids in the final exam, the self-assessment method proposed by the platform remains the most efficient way to go through and fix the vast material.
Appeal to the community
Being a project of such scope, the Grile-Specialitate.ro team relies on direct collaboration with resident doctors, dentists and pharmacists. The platform is a “work in progress” project, built for and together with the medical community.
Thus, doctors who do not yet find their specialty in the current list are invited to submit the bibliography and materials necessary for content creation, their effort being rewarded with a Premium Account. Also, users who already have access to grids specific to their specialty are encouraged to provide constant feedback, report any bugs, or suggest improvements. It is a joint effort, where user suggestions become the basis for future development of the platform.
Free until March 15, 2026
To allow all resident doctors to discover the usefulness of the new tools, the Marsilian team decided to make access to the platform free for the first month after launch.
Thus, during the period 17 February – 15 March 2026any account created on the platform benefits from Premium status with unlimited access to all features: full database of grids, flashcards, full subject summaries, flashcards and statistics.
After this date, users will be able to opt for flexible subscriptions – either monthly or extended packages of the “Until Exam 2026” type, while also maintaining a free account variant with limited functionality (one test per day).
The platform can be accessed starting today at the address: grile-specialitate.ro.
