New contracts under SAFE. The Ministry of National Defense will sign 29 of them in one day

The announcement by the head of the Ministry of National Defense took place in Nowa Dęba in Podkarpacie. According to Kosiniak-Kamysz, this is an unprecedented event in the modernization activities of the Polish army to date. 29 contracts will be signed for a total amount of PLN 78 billion.
On Saturday, the Deputy Prime Minister participated in the signing of an agreement under the SAFE program, first at the Dezamet plant, and then signed a similar agreement at the nearby Huta Stalowa Wola.

The executive agreement concluded with the consortium of the Polish Armaments Group concerns the construction of the National Ammunition Reserve. The value of the contract exceeds PLN 13 billion and covers all companies of PGZ Amunicja. The agreement provides for the delivery of hundreds of thousands of 155 mm artillery shells.
— Never in the history of the modernization process of the Polish Army, never in the history of the process of purchasing equipment for the Polish Army, has there been a day when we sign 29 contracts worth PLN 78 billion at the same time, on one day. This is an absolute world record. This is the day that changes reality, said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that currently the country is in a situation where dangers surround it on all sides. – Provocations, sabotage actions, various types of activities in cyber space, but also the hybrid war that is taking place around the Polish borders and in the Baltic Sea, mean that we must invest in the Polish arms industry to be independent – said the Deputy Prime Minister.

The head of the Ministry of Defense also criticized the previous government, accusing it of inaction in implementing the resolution on the National Ammunition Reserve and failure to prepare domestic production capabilities for the key 155 mm caliber.
The government representative for the SAFE mechanism, Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, was also present in Nowa Dęba. She informed that in the last three days the total value of arms agreements signed amounted to PLN 113 billion. She also announced that the first EU advance payment in the amount of EUR 6.5 billion (approx. PLN 28 billion), constituting 15%, had been transferred to the account at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego. the entire Polish allocation in this program.
Sobkowiak-Czarnecka said that Poland is the first EU country to spend these funds. She added that from May 31, the possibility of individual orders ends, and Poland moves to the joint purchasing formula with partners such as Greece, Sweden and Norway.

After signing the contract in Nowa Dęba, Kosiniak-Kamysz also participated in a similar event at Huta Stalowa Wola. The head of the Ministry of National Defense pointed out that the agreements concluded guarantee the development and independence of the Polish arms industry. – This is PLN 60 billion of contracts just signed for Huta Stalowa Wola and other PGZ companies and all hundreds of thousands of cooperators in Poland – he said.
As announced by the Ministry of National Defense, the contracts under the SAFE program signed in Stalowa Wola concern the supply of Borsuk Infantry Fighting Vehicles, supporting vehicles for the Homar-K launcher and K9 howitzers, additional automated BAOBAB Surface Mining Vehicles, RAK mortar fire modules and REGINA divisional fire modules and command vehicles on a 4×4 platform. Annexes were also signed regarding the refinancing of contracts for the supply of Rosomak APCs in various versions and to the executive contract for accompanying vehicles for K9 howitzers.
