Midfielder Tyler Fletcher (19), from Manchester Unitedwas called up to the final squad of Scotland's national football team for the World Championship. He will replace the injured Billy Gilmour (24), although initially he was not even on coach Steve Clarke's reserve list.
The son of former Scotland captain Darren Fletcher was part of the group of youngsters coach Clarke used in training with the first team last week. Fletcher junior later made his national team debut on Saturday.
He entered the second half of the friendly match against the Curacao national team (4-1). Gilmour injured his knee in that match and was pulled from the squad.

The official reserve list initially featured other midfielders – Rangers' Connor Barron, Udinese's Lennon Miller and Sparta Prague's Andy Irving. But Fletcher has surpassed them in the pecking order, despite playing just 17 minutes for United's senior team so far.
“This morning I had to let three players down again and tell them they won't get a chance. I just felt that Tyler integrated well into the team this week, presented himself in a very good light and performed well in the match as well. That was the main reason for my decision,” the coach said, according to sport.aktuality.sk.

Tyler Fletcher doesn't have much experience with the club team either. He played just two games for United in the recently concluded season.
The Scottish delegation will leave for the United States on Sunday, where they will continue preparations for the World Championship. Clarke's students will play their last friendly match on June 6 against Bolivia. Scotland will be participating in the World Cup after 28 years and will meet Haiti, Morocco and Brazil in Group C.
