The results of Donald Trump's medical check-up. What doctors say about the bruises and swelling of the 79-year-old president

US President Donald Trump continues to enjoy excellent health, his doctor said in a note published by the White House on Friday, after medical checks this week indicated that the 79-year-old American leader still has “slight swelling in his legs” and “benign” bruises on his hands, reports Reuters.
“President Trump continues to enjoy excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and general physical function,” Dr. Sean Barbabella wrote in Tuesday's note, published late Friday night, adding that Trump is “fully fit to perform all duties as commander-in-chief and head of state.”
Trump's visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday, his third in 13 months, was closely watched as the White House has had to provide details over the past year about several of the president's health problems after photos at times revealed swollen ankles, bruises on his hands and spots on his neck.
Shortly after the visit, Trump declared that “everything went perfectly.”
Barbabella's document noted “slight swelling of the legs … with improvement over last year” and persistent hand bruising, described as “common”, “benign” and “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshakes in the context of aspirin use for the prevention of cardiovascular disease”.
The document did not specify the reason for the March dermatological treatment on the president's neck and did not indicate that Trump underwent another MRI exam, as he did in October.
Trump, who turns 80 in June and was the oldest person to assume the presidency, frequently portrays himself as more energetic and fitter than Joe Biden, his Democratic predecessor, who left office last year at the age of 82 after being questioned about his fitness for the job.
Friday's document said the president's general heart function was normal and that “a complete neurological examination demonstrated a normal mental status,” including screenings for depression and anxiety.
“Preventive counseling was provided, including dietary guidance, advice to take low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity and continued weight loss,” according to the document signed by Dr. Sean Barbabella.
Trump is 1.90 m tall and weighs 108 kg, the note also states.
