A four-year-old boy broke a 3,500-year-old clay jug at a museum in Israel.
The child came to the Hecht Museum in Haifa with his family. Interested in a jar dating back to the Bronze Age, he tried to look into the neck and accidentally knocked over the artifact.
The museum management did not make any claims and invited the family of the unwitting vandal on a tour. They promised to restore the jug and return it back as soon as possible.
The jug was on display for 35 years and was displayed at the entrance to the museum without protection, since the administration sees a “special charm” in this format for displaying archaeological finds.
