FCSB salvaged their extremely poor Super League season with a qualification to the Conference League preliminaries. And now the race to millions from UEFA begins.

In the play-off final for the Conference League, FCSB prevailed in extra time against the big rival Dinamo, 2-1thanks to a goal scored by Ofri Arad, in the 107th minute.

How much money can FCSB make from the Conference League

FCSB will play next season in the Conference League preliminaries, starting from round 2. They will be seeded in each round, which can, with any luck, give them an excellent route to the group stage of the third European competition. And it can bring a significant amount to the accounts of Gigi Becali's team.

The calculation starts from the preliminaries. For each past round (except the play-off), a team receives 175,000 euros. So for round 2 and round 3, FCSB would take 350,000 euros. And a possible qualification in the Conference League group would bring 3.17 million euros.

Thus, a presence in the Conference League group would bring the red-whites the sum of 3.52 million euros. Plus the money from TV rights and ticket receipts, somewhere around 300,000 euros.

After qualifying in the Conference League group, FCSB can collect money from tickets, points obtained and ranking at the end of the phase.

  • A win in the Conference League group is worth 400,000 euros

  • A tie brings 133,000 euros

  • Clubs also receive an amount depending on where they finish. The latter collects 64,000 euros, the amount increasing by 64,000 euros with each place

  • Qualifying in the last 16 means 200,000 euros

  • Qualifying in the eighth brings 800,000 euros

  • A presence in the quarters ensures 1.3 million euros

  • The semi-finals mean 2.5 million

  • The finalists receive 4 million each

  • The winner gets another 3 million

In a simulation made by analysts at Football Meets Data, in which the favorites would respect their status and win their matches, the Conference League would feature a number of very strong teams. Among the best rated are Atalanta, Braga, Ajax, Freiburg, AS Monaco, FC Copenhagen, Anderlecht, Pafos, Brighton, Getafe or Panathinaikos.

FCSB would be in the third pot in the draw for the Conference League groups.
