Krasnoyarsk Railways is carrying out a major overhaul of the track and two small bridges on the Kemchug-Zeledeevo section of the Trans-Siberian Railway in the suburbs of Krasnoyarsk, its length is 22 km.
About 100 specialists are involved in the work. Using specialized heavy equipment, railway workers dismantle the old track, clean the ballast and lay modern rail and sleeper grating on a reinforced concrete base.
On small bridges, the total length of which is 35 meters, railway workers are strengthening the abutments and embankment and updating the supports – they are dressed in reinforced concrete “shirts” to protect them from atmospheric influences.
Currently, half of the planned amount of repairs has been completed here. In addition, intensive work is being carried out by KrasRussian Railways on three more Trans-Siberian sections with a total length of 70 km – Averyanovka-Tyazhin, Zeledeevo-Kacha and Ingashskaya-Tinskaya.
In general, from April to November, under the “Major Track Repair” program on the Krasnoyarsk Railway, it is planned to renew 250 km of railway track. All repairs are carried out in closed track mode, when the section being repaired is closed, and trains are passed in reverse mode along the adjacent track. For these purposes, about 1,250 technological “windows” are planned.
Due to the fact that most of the sections being repaired are located in the suburbs of Krasnoyarsk and on sections of the mainline characterized by high traffic intensity of commuter trains, adjustments to their schedule are possible.
Krasnoyarsk Railways asks passengers to be understanding of the work being carried out – it is necessary to ensure the reliability and safety of the infrastructure, increase the speed of trains, and develop transport services.
