NATO's first reaction after a Russian drone fell in Romania: “We condemn Russia's recklessness”

NATO reacted on Friday morning following the incident in Galati, where a drone of Russian origin crashed over a block of flats, injuring two people.

The NATO spokesperson sent a firm message on Friday morning, after the drone incident in Galati.
“Early this morning, an apartment building in Romania was hit by a drone as Russia attacked Ukrainian infrastructure near the border. The NATO Secretary General is in contact with the Romanian authorities. We condemn Russia's recklessness and NATO will continue to strengthen its defenses against all threats, including drones”, the message on X of the NATO spokesperson states.
For his part, the president of Latvia condemned the incident in Galați.
“Latvia condemns the Russian drone attack on an apartment building in Galati, Romania, which injured two people. I wish the injured a speedy recovery. Latvia stands in full solidarity with our ally, Romania, and is ready to support appropriate measures to prevent such violations”, according to the President of Latvia.
A drone crashed on Friday night on a block of flats in Galati, the incident being followed by an explosion and fire at an apartment located on the 10th floor of the building. An RO-Alert message was issued for Brăila, Tulcea and Galați. The two people who were injured on Friday night, after a drone hit a block of flats in Galaţi, were transported to the hospital, and two other tenants, with a panic attack, received care on the spot.
