The battle between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid it seems to be proceeding on several fronts. Tonight, the Madrid club poked fun at the Catalans in response to rumors that Barcelona are preparing a €100m bid for Julian Alvarez.

Atletico have published mock bids for 3 of Barcelona's mainstays Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Raphinha and said that “nine we wouldn't think of having the vice president of referees on the payroll or resorting to political favors to register players”, allusions to two of the big scandals in which the Catalan club was recently involved.

Atletico and Barcelona move the war to the mercato: both offered Bernardo Silva

Beyond these attacks, the two clubs are still fighting for the signature of Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese midfielder is available, free of contract after spending the last 9 years at Manchester City.

The Athletic writes that both teams have sent offers for Bernardo. Madrid have offered him a higher salary, but the Portuguese would prefer to play in Barcelonaaccording to the cited source.

The Catalans, however, have other priorities at the moment, completing the acquisition of Anthony Gordon and groping the field in the case of Julian Alvarez, so as for Bernardo, “the situation remains open”.

Should he reach La Liga, Bernardo Silva would tick off his third major championship. He played at AS Monaco between 2014 and 2017, then 9 years at Manchester City.
