Mihai Stoica, president of the Board of Directors from FCSBnamed his favorites after the red-blues drew with Fenerbahçescore 1-1, in the last match of the Europa League group.
Mihai Stoica analyzed his team's game and was of the opinion that FCSB was superior to Fenerbahce in tonight's game. He noticed Mamadou Thiam and Juri Cisotti.
Mihai Stoica's remarks after FCSB – Fenerbahce: “I told the boss that Thiam deserves to play! Cisotti… how much football he knows!”
“I think it's the best evolution in Europe of our team since the return with PAOK a year ago, almost a year ago. Without Bîrligea, without Tănase, with Ngezana who said he was trying to play because he felt very mentally tired.
We didn't have a bench, but we had tremendous dedication and some players who broke the ceiling. I regret that Mamadou Thiam didn't score. He played an exceptional match. I'm glad, I even told the boss, he's a player who trains very well and deserves to play.
There were big opportunities, even Politic missed one. We were thinking that they would score a goal and people would start booing and leaving. It wasn't like that. Usually, it happens like against a good team like Fenerbahce, in a competition where the motivation has kind of disappeared because it's the last game.
It was hard to believe that I could go on, even though I was beating. In the second half we entered better. In the 63rd minute, we lost Darius Olaru who has an ankle injury. I hope it's nothing serious. It wasn't ok and we didn't want to risk it. Toma in his place and in this distribution we managed to score.
Apart from the triangle made by Tavi Popescu, Toma and Risto Radunovic, it was the exceptional finish of an exceptional footballer, Juri Cisotti!
The more you look at him, the more you say “what could this boy do?”. How much football he knows, how intelligent he is… He is an example for all. He is a central midfielder, but he knows how to attack from the wing position, he knows how to come inside the goal.
We had other chances, but the players on the other side didn't know how to come inside the goal. Baba played a consistent game. He was strong in duels. We were superior to Fenerbahce.
A Fenerbahce with Soyuncu, with Akturkoglu who is exceptional. Very good team, but we were better. That's what the boys have to learn from this match, but also the fans. This team has extraordinary potential. Now we have to show it in the championship, take the team to the play-offs and after that we'll see,” Mihai Stoica told Prima Sport.
