More precisely, PNL deputy Alexandru Muraru stated during the morning that Romania was attacked for the first time after 82 years, referring to the drone that hit a block in the center of Galați.

General (r) Dan Grecu believes that politicians should refrain from inflaming spirits in such moments and show balance.

“These are the fools. No, we were not attacked. This is a drone that was definitely hijacked by radioelectronic means from Ukraine to us. The Ukrainians did not do it intentionally, in the sense that they did not want to send it to us, but they did it to defend themselves, to protect their objective. The Russians did not target Romania with this drone either. They wanted to hit a specific target or targets in Ukraine, no they cared about us”, says General Dan Grecu.

In his opinion, the event could take a serious turn. “I was also lucky this time that it hit the elevator house, not two floors below, because at that time we were discussing something else. It was a much more serious case with the Poles, a rocket caused casualties. Fortunately, if you can say so, it was not that serious with us, in the sense that there were no victims.” says General Dan Grecu.

General (r) Dan Grecu is one of the most experienced Romanian generals. He is president of the Romanian Reserve Officers Association. He was in Afghanistan, Iraq, Eritrea and Ethiopia and was decorated in turn by the United States of America, the UN and NATO.

What MP Muraru said

“Romania, attacked for the first time in 82 years: the invocation of Article 4 of NATO and the expulsion of the Russian ambassador, the first measures. Today we are witnessing a fact of exceptional gravity: for the first time after 1944, the territory of Romania is hit by a military apparatus from a state engaged in a war of aggression on our borders. Regardless of the explanations that will follow, such an incident cannot be treated as a simple technical error”. he transmitted. Equally, the ambassador of the Russian Federation must be declared persona non grata and expelled immediately until the circumstances of this incident are fully clarified.” said MP Muraru.

And NATO reacted, after the incident with the drone that crashed over a block of flats in Galati, injuring two people.

“Early this morning, an apartment building in Romania was hit by a drone as Russia attacked Ukrainian infrastructure near the border. The NATO Secretary General is in contact with the Romanian authorities. We condemn Russia's recklessness and NATO will continue to strengthen its defenses against all threats, including drones”, the message on X of the NATO spokesperson states.
